Abstract:
A magnetic head is provided with a recording head section for recording information at
a discretionary position on a magnetic recording plane of a recording medium; and
a reproducing head section which includes a reproduction head element for reproducing
information recorded at a discretionary position on the magnetic recording
plane. The magnetic head forms the reproduction head element having a curved
shape in accordance with a curved shape of a magnetic pattern recorded at a discretionary
position in the recording medium, and thus a shape of a lead gap between the reproduction
head element and the magnetic recording plane of the recording medium is permitted
to substantially accord with the shape of the magnetization pattern. In a disc
device, the reproduction head element wherein the shape of the lead gap is permitted
to substantially accord with the shape of the magnetization pattern is provided.
