A magnetic key and a keyboard with magnetic keys. The key comprises a base plate (1), a sensing element (2), a middle plate (5), a magnetic element (4), a metal key cap (3) and a soft character (6). The sensing element is arranged above the base plate. The middle plate is located above the sensing element and provided with a key hole (51) and an accommodating groove (52) that penetrate the upper surface and the lower surface of the middle plate. The magnetic element is arranged in the accommodating groove of the middle plate. The metal key cap is provided with a cap body (31) and a cap brim (32), the cap body is arranged in the key hole of the middle plate, the upper surface of the cap body is provided with a through hole (312), and the cap brim is located between the lower surface of the middle plate and the sensing element and extends to a position below the accommodating groove of the middle plate. When the cap body is not pressed by external force, the magnetic element attracts the cap brim of the metal key cap. The lower surface of the soft character is provided with a protrusion (61), and the protrusion penetrates the through hole in the cap body of the metal key cap and is located above the sensing element. The magnetic key is suitable for thin keyboards and solves the technical problems in the prior art that a keyboard is thick and a magnetic keyboard has a complex structure and poor hand feeling.
