A marker detecting device which employs a sensor unit (11), in which a plurality of combinations of a magnetic sensor (Sn) and a magnetic field generating coil (Cn) are arranged, to detect a magnetic marker laid in a road is provided with: a storage unit (112) for storing characteristic information of each magnetic field generating coil (Cn); an estimating unit (112) which refers to the characteristic information of each magnetic field generating coil (Cn) to estimate a magnetic difference value A acting on the corresponding magnetic sensor (Sn) due to a current difference value A acting on the magnetic field generating coil (Cn); and a calibrating unit (112) which calibrates each magnetic sensor (Sn) in such a way as to increase the uniformity of a sensitivity, which is the ratio between an output difference value A of the magnetic sensor (Sn) corresponding to a change in the current of the current difference value A acting on the corresponding magnetic field generating coil (Cn), and the estimated magnetic difference value A.
