Abstract:
To address the problem of eliminating the need for a torque sensor, a magnetic modulation gear device 30 is configured to include: an input shaft 23; an output shaft 32b the speed of which is changed relative to the input shaft 23 by way of a speed reducing unit and is output; an input shaft-side sensor 35 which measures an angle of rotation on the input shaft 23 side; and an output shaft-side sensor 36 which measures an angle of rotation on the output shaft 32b side. For example, a drive device 1 is provided with the magnetic modulation gear device 30, a drive source 20 which inputs torque to the input shaft, and a control device 40 which controls an operating amount of the drive source on the basis of the measured angle of rotation on the input shaft side and the measured angle of rotation on the output shaft side such that a target torque is achieved, thereby controlling the torque on the output shaft side without employing a torque sensor.
