Abstract:
The purpose of the present invention is to provide a method for manufacturing a magnetic recording medium which includes a magnetic recording layer that has a larger magnetic anisotropy constant (Ku). This method for manufacturing a magnetic recording medium includes: (a) a step for preparing a substrate; (b) a step for forming a base layer by heating the substrate to 350°C or more and depositing a non-magnetic material in which MgO is the main component; (c) and a step for forming the magnetic recording layer on the base layer.
