Abstract:
This tape-shaped magnetic recording medium comprises a recording layer including ε-iron oxide particles. The total area Stotal of the SFD curve of the recording layer in the vertical direction, and the area Slow of the SFD curve in a region where coercivity Hc satisfies the expression -500 [Oe] ≤ Hc ≤ 500 [Oe], have an area ratio Rlow (= (Slow / Stotal) × 100) of 5.5% or less.
