Title:
MAGNETIC RESONANCE (MR)-BASED ATTENUATION CORRECTION AND MONITOR ALIGNMENT CALIBRATION
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2015/193756
Kind Code:
A3
Abstract:
A system (10) and method (150) compensate a medical image for truncation. A histogram module (84) is configured to receive or generate a joint histogram describing frequencies of feature vectors in a pair of images. The images of the pair are generated with different imaging modalities. The feature vectors each represent features at a spatial location by at least values of the images of the pair at the spatial location. An estimation module (86) is configured to estimate values for a truncated region of the image. The estimation includes looking up distributions of values in the joint histogram with partial feature vectors. A system (10) and method (200) further monitor the trend of an alignment calibration state of a hybrid imaging scanner. The calibration state is statistically inferred from registration parameters resulting from registration of image pairs generated with the scanner.
