Abstract:
A magnetic sensor (1) is provided with: an angle sensor (10) that includes a plurality of first magnetoresistance elements (111-114, 121-124) and outputs data in accordance with an angle formed between the direction of an external magnetic field and a reference direction; and a magnetic field intensity sensor (20) that includes a plurality of second magnetoresistance elements (211-214, 221-224) and outputs data on the basis of the intensity of the external magnetic field, wherein the angle sensor (10) and the magnetic field intensity sensor (20) have the same normal direction with respect to sensor-formed reference surfaces, the magnetic field intensity sensor (20) has output characteristics that are different depending on the angle formed between the direction of the external magnetic field and the reference direction, and the intensity of the external magnetic field is determined on the basis of the output of the magnetic field intensity sensor and the angle formed between the reference direction and the direction of the external magnetic field detected by the angle sensor (10).
