Abstract:
This magnetic sensor device is provided with: a magnetic field generation unit (1) which is disposed to face one surface of a sheet-like object (4) to be detected including a magnetic component, and which generates a cross magnetic field that crosses the object (4) to be detected; and a magnetoresistive effect element (3) which is disposed between the object (4) to be detected and the magnetic field generation unit (1), and which has a resistance value varying with changes in the component of the cross magnetic field in the direction of conveyance of the object (4) to be detected that occur when the object (4) to be detected is conveyed. The magnetoresistive effect element (3) comprises a bridge connection of resistive elements (32a, 32b) that are adjacent to each other in the direction of conveyance of the object (4); the resistive elements (32a, 32b) are arranged to be symmetrical to each other about an axis extending through the center of the bridge in a direction perpendicular to the direction of conveyance of the object (4); and the position of the center of the bridge of the magnetoresistive effect element (3) in the direction of conveyance of the object (4) coincides with the position of the center of the magnetic field generation unit (1) in that direction.
