Abstract:
The present invention addresses the problem of reducing a harmonic component in an output signal. This magnetic sensor (1) is provided with a magnetic resistance element (11) for detection and a magnetic resistance element (12) for cancellation. The inclination of the magneto-sensitive direction of the cancellation magnetic resistance element (12) with respect to that of the detection magnetic resistance element (11) is within a prescribed range. When α represents the rotational angle of a rotary body corresponding to one cycle of a fundamental harmonic contained in an output signal (V1, V2) from the detection magnetic resistance element (11), and n represents a positive integer of 1 or greater, the prescribed range is determined with reference to n×α/3 or n×α/3+α/2.
