Title:
MAGNETIC SENSOR
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2001/077703
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
The invention provides a magnetic sensor (1) for measuring the magnetic field distribution of a sample (40) using a SQUID (7). A magnetic sensor comprises a cup-shaped inner container (3) that contains coolant (8) for the SQUID; an outer container (2) that houses the inner container and includes a window (23) opposed to the bottom of the inner container 3; and a heat conductor (6), one end of which is attached to a part (3b) of the bottom of the inner container while the other end holds the SQUID and faces the window of the outer container. The space (4) between the inner container (3) and the outer container (2) is maintained substantially at a vacuum. The inner container (3) is formed of metal material, and the outer container (2) is formed of nonmetallic material.
