Abstract:
[Problem] To provide a magnetic sensor having improved high-field magnetoresistance.
[Solution] A magnetic sensor in the embodiment of the present invention has a plurality of element sections (9), bias layers (10) disposed on both the sides of respective element sections, and soft magnetic bodies (12) not in contact with the element sections and the bias layers. The sensitivity axis direction (P1) of the element sections (9), and the magnetization direction of the bias layers (10) are Y1-Y2 direction. Each of the bias layers (10) is configured such that a bias magnetic field is supplied in the X1-X2 direction to each of the element sections (9). Each of the soft magnetic bodies is configured such that a magnetic field is supplied to each of the element sections (9) by converting the magnetic field in the substantially Y1-Y2 direction when an external magnetic field in the X1-X2 direction is operated. An interval (T1) is provided between each of the element sections (9) and each of the soft magnetic bodies (12) in planar view, and each of the bias layers (10) does not overlap, in planar view, each of a virtual line (E), which is formed by linearly connecting together end portions (12d) where the distance between the soft magnetic bodies (12) is shortest. Furthermore, there is no bias layer (10) between the soft magnetic bodies (12) in an element connected body (17).
