Abstract:
The present invention addresses the problem of providing a magnetic separation apparatus that is capable of reliably separating sludge even when a process liquid contains a large volume of sludge. Provided is a magnetic separation apparatus (100) characterized by comprising: a process liquid storage unit (18) for storing the process liquid, which is commingled with sludge composed of magnetic material; a rotating drum (20) which is constituted by a nonmagnetic material with multiple indentations formed on at least a portion of the outer peripheral surface thereof, and which is housed in the process liquid storage unit (18); a motor (30) for rotating the rotating drum (20); multiple magnets (40) disposed along the inner peripheral surface of the rotating drum (20); a squeezing roller (50) that rotates while being in contact with the outer peripheral surface of the rotating drum (20); and a scraper (60) that is in contact with the outer peripheral surface of the rotating drum (20) at a position that is downstream of the side that the squeezing roller (50) is disposed on.
