A simply constructed magnetic separation device. The magnetic separation device (1) has an attraction treatment section (3) that vertically extends through a bore (5a) of a superconducting magnet (5), has magnetic filters (9) that are arranged in the attraction treatment section and sequentially conveyed upward, and allows magnetic substances in a waste liquid to be attracted to the magnetic filters (9); a filter return path (17) in which the magnetic filters (9), discharged from the end point (3b) of the attraction treatment section (3) and returned again to the start point (3a), are conveyed; a filter cleaning section (15) that cleans the magnetic filters (9) between the attraction treatment section (3) and the filter return path (17); and a first conveyance section (11) that conveys the magnetic filters (9) from the attraction treatment section (3) through the filter cleaning section (15) up to the filter return path (17). The first conveyance section (11) conveys the magnetic filters (9) on a circular path in a horizontal plane.
