Abstract:
Provided are a magnetic tape, and a magnetic tape cartridge and magnetic tape device including the magnetic tape, the magnetic tape including, in a region extending across one portion of the magnetic tape in the longitudinal direction, at least one each of an area A and an area B with differing center line average surface roughnesses Ra measured on a magnetic layer surface, wherein: when an extraction amount per unit area of a component selected from the group consisting of a fatty acid, a fatty acid ester, and a fatty acid amide extracted from magnetic layer sides of the area A and the area B is respectively defined as AMag and BMag, the ratio BMag/AMag is 1.20 to 10.00; and when an extraction amount per unit area of a component selected from the group consisting of a fatty acid, a fatty acid ester, and a fatty acid amide extracted from a back coat layer side of the area B is defined as BBack, the ratio BMag/BBack is at least 2.0.
