Abstract:
Provided is a magnetic tape which includes a non-magnetic support and a magnetic layer containing ferromagnetic powder. In this invention, the non-magnetic support is a polyethylene naphthalate support having a Young's modulus of 10,000 MPa or higher in the width direction thereof. The rate of change in friction coefficient against an LTO8 head before and after storage as measured on the surface of the magnetic layer is 0.7 or higher.
