Abstract:
Provided is a magnetic tape in which, in an environment of 32 °C in temperature and 80% in relative humidity, a frictional force F45° on a magnetic layer surface with respect to a LTO8 head measured at a head tilt angle of 45° is between 4 and 15 gf inclusive, and the standard deviation of a frictional force F on the magnetic layer surface with respect to the LTO8 head measured at head tilt angles of 0°, 15°, 30°, and 45° is 10 gf or less. The magnetic tape comprises a polyethylene naphthalate base of at least 10,000 MPa in the Young's modulus in the width direction.
