Abstract:
Provided is a magnetic tape container that contains a core wound with a magnetic tape. The magnetic tape has a nonmagnetic support and a magnetic layer containing a ferromagnetic powder. The nonmagnetic support is a polyethylene naphthalate support that has a Young's modulus in the width direction of at least 10,000 MPa. When the wound magnetic tape is withdrawn from the core, the maximum deviation of the center position of the average minimum zone reference circle of the path for one rotation described by the magnetic tape is not more than 100 µm at three locations in the width direction of the magnetic tape.
