Abstract:
A magnetic viscous damper, comprising a piston slidably arranged inside a cylinder into which a magnetic viscous fluid is inserted. The piston comprises a piston core attached to the end section of a piston rod, and having a coil provided in the outer circumference thereof; a flux ring surrounding the outer circumference of the piston core and forming a flowpath for the magnetic viscous fluid, between the flux ring and the piston core; a first plate formed in a ring shape, arranged in the outer circumference of the piston rod, and defining the position of one end of the flux ring relative to the piston core, in the axial direction; a second plate arranged in the inner circumference of the other end of the flux ring, and in contact with the piston core; and a first retaining ring fitted into the inner circumference of the flux ring, and fixing the second plate in the axial direction.
