Abstract:
A magnetic viscous fluid damper has: a cylinder; a piston provided within the cylinder in a slidable manner; two fluid chambers divided by the piston; a hollow rod connected to the piston; an electromagnetic coil wound around the piston and consisting of a magnet wire; two lead wires extending from opposite ends of the magnet wire; and a coil assembly formed by embedding both the electromagnetic coil and the two lead wires in a mold resin. The piston has a hollow first core connected to the rod and also has a second core for gripping the coil assembly between the second core and the first core. The two lead wires are passed through the inside of the first core and are connected to electric wires passing through the inside of the rod.
