Abstract:
This vibration damping device (10) is characterized in having a magneto-viscous fluid composition in a cylinder (12), the magneto-viscous fluid composition containing magnetic particles, a dispersant for dispersing the magnetic particles, and a friction modifier, the friction modifier being an amine-based additive having a C14-22 hydrocarbon chain, preferably an alkyl chain or an alkenyl chain, and the friction modifier content of the magneto-viscous fluid composition being 0.1-5 mass%.
