Abstract:
This magnetoplumbite-type hexagonal ferrite powder is an aggregate of particles of a compound represented in formula (1), and, in the number-based particle size distribution measured with laser diffraction scattering, defining the mode diameter as the mode value, D10 as the cumulative 10% diameter and D90 as the cumulative 90% diameter, the mode diameter is greater than or equal to 5 μm and less than 10 μm and (D90-D10)/mode diameter≤3.0; an application of said powder is also provided. In formula (1), A represents at least one metal elementselected from the group consisting of Sr, Ba, Ca and Pb, and x satisfies 1.5≤x≤8.0. Formula (1): AFe(12-x)AlxO19
