Abstract:
This magnetoresistive element is provided with: a first element portion (11) including a first ferromagnetic area; a second element portion (12) including a second ferromagnetic area; and a plurality of electrode portions including at least a first electrode portion disposed at one end of the first element portion (11), a connecting electrode portion (13) interconnecting the other end of the first element portion (11) and one end of the second element portion (12), and a second electrode portion disposed at the other end of the second element portion (12). A magnetization direction of the first ferromagnetic area and a magnetization direction of the second ferromagnetic area are in the same direction. A direction of electric current that flows in the first ferromagnetic area and the magnetization direction of the first ferromagnetic area intersect each other. A direction of electric current that flows in the second ferromagnetic area and the magnetization direction of the second ferromagnetic area intersect each other. The direction of electric current that flows in the first ferromagnetic area and the direction of electric current that flows in the second ferromagnetic area intersect each other.
