Abstract:
[Problem] To provide main rotor blades for a helicopter such as a single main rotor helicopter which are capable of reducing the drag coefficient during high-speed forward flights and are easy to control, and a helicopter having such main rotor blades. [Solution] This main rotor blade 1 is for a high-speed helicopter and comprises a blade root part 10 with a length that is at least 30% of the rotor radius R, and a blade main body 20 that is continuous with the blade root part 10. Preferably, the cross-sectional shape of the blade root part 10 is (x/a)m + (y/b)m = 1 and a>b, where m is any number, x is the lengthwise direction of the chord, and y is the direction of the thickness of the blade.
