Abstract:
Disclosed is a main spindle apparatus (5) for a machine tool such that that a draw bar (22) is inserted into a main spindle (20) which is rotatably supported in a housing (12), and that the draw bar (22) is biased to the rear of the main spindle (20) by the elastic force of disc springs (23), resulting in a tool holder (51) being clamped to the main spindle (20). The main spindle apparatus (5) is equipped with an unclamping device (60) that comprises a piston (63) which is provided in an annular space (55) between the main spindle (20) and the draw bar (22), and which, by means of fluid pressure, causes the draw bar (22) to move toward the front of the main spindle (20) in resistance to the elastic force.
