Abstract:

A main spindle device (10) of a machine tool is provided with: a rear-side bearing (16) and front-side bearings (18, 20) which rotatably support a main spindle (14) with respect to a housing (12); a built-in motor (22, 24) which is disposed around the main spindle between the front-side bearings and the rear-side bearing; heat pipes (50) which are embedded in the main spindle and which conduct heat between the center section and the rear-end section of the main spindle; a plurality of plate-shaped inner fins (54b) which are fixed to a rear section of the main spindle that protrudes rearward of the rear-side bearing and which extend perpendicularly with respect to the rotation axis of the main spindle; and a plurality of plate-shaped outer fins (56b) which are fixed to the housing and which are disposed between the plurality of inner fins in such a manner as not to contact the inner fins.
