Abstract:
The present disclosure provides a maleated polymer-graphene oxide composite elastomer including a plurality of non-reduced graphene oxide (GO) fillers and a plurality of maleated polymers covalently bound to the plurality of graphene oxide fillers via maleic acid covalent bonds. The present disclosure further provides a method of forming a maleated polymer-graphene oxide composite elastomer by reacting a plurality of maleic anhydride groups on a plurality of maleated polymers with a plurality of oxidative groups on a plurality of GO fillers to form a plurality of covalent bonds and to crosslink the plurality of maleated polymers via the plurality of GO fillers. The present disclosure further includes any other maleated polymer-graphene oxide composite elastomers made by the above method.
