Abstract:
A short-term planned route (B) from a start position serving as a ship position at a first time to an end position serving as a ship position at a second time is developed on the basis of a planned route (A) based on information relating to weather and oceanographic phenomenon forecasts and information relating to ship performance, information relating to estimated oceanographic phenomena to be encountered based on information relating to encountered oceanographic phenomena measured on board, information relating to operational performance measured on board, and a kinetic model of the body of the ship. The short-term planned route (B) is determined by optimizing a first evaluation function (J) including an index that indicates the influence of a difference between the end position and a planned position serving as a ship position planned to be at the second time in the planned route (A), a fuel consumption index when the ship sails in the short-term planned route (B), and a safety index when the ship sails in the short-term planned route (B).
