Abstract:
Provided are a manipulator and a robot with which a smooth operation can be performed. A manipulator (1) comprises: a pressure-receiving part provided with an elastic layer (5) in which are defined an outer surface (5a) which is a pressure-receiving surface and an inner surface (5b) which is on the side opposite the outer surface (5a), and markers (M) that are disposed in the elastic layer (5) and that are displaced in accordance with deformation of the elastic layer (5); and detection parts (6) that are positioned on the inner surface (5b) side of the elastic layer (5) and that detect, on the basis of the displacement of the markers (M), an external force applied to the elastic layer (5). The markers (M) include first markers (M1) and second markers (M2) that are disposed to be offset in the thickness direction of the elastic layer (5).
