Abstract:
This bent member manufacturing method includes: a grasping step for grasping with a chuck an end portion, in a longitudinal direction, of an elongated steel material having an open end; a conveying step for conveying the steel material after the grasping step in the longitudinal direction with the end portion being the leading end; a heating step for subjecting part of the steel material in the longitudinal direction to high-frequency induction heating to form a heated portion; a bending step for imparting a bending moment to the heated portion by moving the chuck in a three-dimensional direction; and a cooling step for cooling the heated portion after the bending step by spraying a coolant onto the heated portion. At the start of the heating step, the amount of heat applied to the end portion when forming the heated portion is made larger than that in an upstream adjacent region adjacent to the end portion on the upstream side when viewed along the conveying direction of the steel material, and the chuck is cooled with the coolant.
