Disclosed is a manufacturing method for a hollow cast which can reduce the occurrence of cavities and oxides of a casting base material while increasing the bond characteristics between the casting base material and a hollow-forming member. The disclosed method for a manufacturing a hollow cast by insert casting a hollow-forming member using a molten metal of a casting base material includes at least: a step wherein the hollow-forming member is manufactured from a material having a higher melting point than the casting base metal so that a gap layer is formed on the inside of the surface layer of the contact surface where the molten metal makes contact with the hollow-forming member; a step wherein the contact surface of the hollow-forming member is covered in a metallic layer of the same metal as the casting base metal; and a step in which the hollow-forming member is inserted by the casting base metal by placing the covered hollow-forming member in a mould, and pouring the molten metal of the casting base metal into the mould.
