Abstract:
According to the present invention, hollow particles that maintain a white color in oil are provided using a simple low-cost method. This manufacturing method for hollow particles is characterized by: adding, to a core particle liquid dispersion containing core particles, a water-soluble salt, and water and having a water-soluble salt concentration of 1.0 mol/L or more with respect to the solution, a silica material in an amount such that the silica-covering amount per unit surface area of the core particles equals 0.02 g/m2 or more while maintaining the temperature of the reaction system at 50°C or lower, to produce a hollow-particle precursor in which the core particles are coated with silica; and removing the core particles from the hollow-particle precursor to produce the hollow particles.
