Abstract:
A map data generation device (2) comprises: a probe map data generation unit (17) that generates probe map data for each data management unit comprising mesh that divides a road section, route or map, on the basis of probe data collected by a probe data collection unit (16), from a plurality of vehicles (A); a map data updating unit (20) that compares the probe map data generated by the probe map data generation unit to basic map data, finds differential data, and updates the basic map data on the basis of a plurality of differential data for each data management unit; and a transient data discrimination unit (19) that discriminates and removes transient data from the probe data and differential data.
