Abstract:
In this map data processing system (10), a target lane determination unit (11) determines a target lane to be subjected to processing. A map data acquisition unit (12) acquires map data for a first point on the target lane and a second point on the target lane removed from the first point by a predetermined distance. On the basis of the map data, a lane information calculation unit (13) calculates target lane azimuth angles at the first point and second point and the azimuth angle of a lane adjacent to the target lane at the second point. If the difference between the target lane azimuth angles at the first point and second point is greater than a predetermined threshold and the difference between the target lane azimuth angle and adjacent lane azimuth angle at the second point is greater than a predetermined threshold, a lane information correction unit (14) determines that the adjacent lane azimuth angle at the second point is the correct azimuth angle for the target lane at the second point and corrects the azimuth angle for the target lane at the second point.
