Abstract:
This map data providing system is provided with: a unit for a vehicle (1) which detects, through a navigation signal, location coordinates of a vehicle from map data provided with a plurality of pieces of section data to which each reference point represented as absolute coordinates is set and in which a map element is represented as relative coordinates with respect to the reference point of a belonging section, acquires data which indicates location coordinates of the map element present around the vehicle in a section in which the vehicle is present, and specifies a deviation amount which indicates a difference between the acquired location of the map element and a location at which the map element is actually present; a correction amount calculation unit (222, F10) which calculates, on the basis of the specified deviation amount, a correction amount for adjusting the coordinates of the reference point to those of the actual location; and a correction map generation unit (F9, 224) which generates correction-completed map data which indicates location coordinates for each map element.
