Abstract:

[Problem] To provide a technology for displaying, using simple processing, a scaled view of a narrowly branching intersection in a way that makes the intersection easy to view. [Solution] A map display system that is for displaying a map on a display unit and is characterized by being provided with a narrowly branching intersection determination means that determines whether a guidance subject intersection is a narrowly branching intersection having a road intersection angle below a prescribed threshold and a scaled view display means that, if the guidance subject intersection is a narrowly branching intersection, displays, on the display means, a scaled view of the guidance subject intersection in which the scale of the guidance subject intersection included in the map is changed so that the rate of the lateral scaling divided by the rate of the vertical scaling is greater than 1.
