WIPO Patent Application WO/2007/045936
Kind Code:
A2
Abstract:
The maritime device for purification waste water is constructed with a lid (21) that covers the whole device and when taken off, provides easy access to all three chambers for repair. The device has fitted attachments for possible additional equipment that can be fitted at customer's request, as the macerator (18), vacuum systems (19) and (20), additional draining pump (11) and blower (13). The operational access to the device and its equipment is needed only from the front, one of the sides and from the top side, so the device can be placed I a corner of a room. The device is equipped with vacuum systems (19) and (20) that forms and automatically maintains the vacuum in the faecal water pipeline. The automatic control is placed in the control cabinet (17).

Description:

MARITIME DEVICE FOR PURIFICATION OF WASTE WATER «BRODOPUR BP-XXL+XXXX»

DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION

1. TECHNICAL FIELD

This invention applies to the ship waste water purifier, that, amongst others, has connectors for every possible equipment, removable lid covering the whole device, vacuum system, macerator, draining pumps, blower, and which is according to the International Patent Classification (IPC) classified as B 63 B 29/16, device for ejection sanitary water.

2. TECHNICAL PROBLEM

The known existing devices had a complex internal geometry, of such dimensions to prevent access to all its spaces, which resulted in infeasibility of general refurbishing of the device.

Known devices all over the world offered no possibility for fitting of additional equipment, and such problems had to be resolved by two or more separate devices, thus wasting additional ship space, higher price of the system and complicated maintenance.

The technical solutions so far were designed in a manner that made them non-economical, due to complex internal structure and the complete device interior.

The access to the operational equipment on existing devices had to be from 4-5 sides of the device, thus requiring additional space around all sides of the device, the space often very limited in the ship's engine room.

3. STATE OF THE ART

Some of the known devices were constructed in such manner that their dimensions did not fit in the standard metal sheet sizes, thus causing additional work and producing unused metal waste, thus increasing the price of the product.

The world known devices used lamellate compressors with carbon lamellas that have the reduced air flow capacity and contaminate the process with carbon dust produced by wear of the lamellae. By using the lamellate compressors the efficiency of the biological purification process of the waste water on the ship is reduced.

The existing known devices had no technical facilities planned for fitting of a vacuum system, and, in the cases where the vacuum system was necessary, additional devices had to be fitted, quite often from a different manufacturer.

The existing devices were designed in such manner that no attention was paid to the problem of the limited mounting and operating space.

4. EXPLANATION OF THE NATURE OF THE INVENTION AND DESCRIPTION

On the Figure 1 , the housing 22 is constructed as a simple geometry element, constructed from the metal sheets of standard dimensions. The lid 21 completely covers the upper side of the housing 22. The lid 21 is fastened to the housing 22 with bolts, thus making it easy to open the device and access all interior parts, when the device has to be serviced / refurbished. The housing 22 is also constructed using a simple geometry for all three chambers.

Housing lid 21 has inspection lids 23 that are used for regular (monthly) inspection to determine the state of individual chambers in the housing 22.

This device is designed for attachment of additional equipment, like additional draining pump 11 , additional blower 13, vacuum systems 19 and 20 and macerator 18 (shredder). All this equipment can be fitted immediately, or later, at the customer's request, with only minimal intervention.

The additional draining pump 11 is used as reserve for the case of faults on the pump 10. The blower 13 is used as reserve for the case of faults on the blower 12. Blowers 12 and 13 are vortex types that provide larger air flow than the lamellate ones, without any contamination of the biological process thus resulting in more efficient water purification.

In the cases where the device is not fitted into a classical gravitational faecal water draining system, but in a vacuum system, on such device are fitted the vacuum systems 19 and 20. The vacuum systems 19 and 20 form and automatically maintain the vacuum in the faecal water pipelines, by automatic devices, placed in the control cabinet 17.

The macerator-shredder 18 is fitted on customer's request, when a larger proportion of hard and fibrous matter can be expected in the waste water.

The device is constructed in such manner that the operational access to the device and it's equipment is needed from the front, one of the sides and from above, thus permitting placement of the device in a corner of a room and by that significantly reducing the operational and the assembly space needed in the ship's engine room.

This device is manufactured in five standard sizes, according to the ship capacity required.

The device was type tested and certified by the Croatian Ship Register as the national house and by BUREU VERITAS, as the European Union authorised house, thus confirming the device compliance with the international regulations for prevention of sea pollution.
