Abstract:
A marker detection method in which a sensor unit (11) that includes a plurality of magnetic sensors that are arranged in a vehicle width direction is used to detect magnetic markers (10) that have been laid in a road. The detection method involves generating a feature value that represents the symmetry of a magnetism distribution that is a distribution of magnetism values measured by the sensors of the sensor unit (11) and performing threshold value processing related to the feature value so as to determine whether it is possible that there are sources of magnetism that are not the magnetic markers (10) and are causing disturbances, which suppresses misdetections.
