Abstract:
Provided is a martensitic stainless steel for use in a two-wheeled-vehicle brake disk, said steel characterized in containing 0.025-0.080% of C, 0.05-0.8% of Si, 0.5-1.5% of Mn, no more than 0.035% of P, no more than 0.015% of S, 11.0-13.5% of Cr, 0.01-0.50% of Ni, 0.01-0.08% of Cu, 0.01-0.30% of Mo, 0.01-0.10% of V, no more than 0.05% of Al, and 0.015-0.060% of N (all percentages being given with respect to mass); having a DFE value of 5 to 30 (inclusive) (where DFE=12(Cr+Si)－430C－460N－20Ni－7Mn－89 (formula 1)); and having a δ ferrite content observed in the cross-sectional structure of 5 to 30% (inclusive) by area. Ti, B, Nb, Sn, or Bi may be added.
