Abstract:
A martensitic stainless steel plate for a brake disk rotor, the plate being characterized by including prescribed components and having a precipitate with a particle diameter of 2 µm or less present in the parent phase at a density of 0.01-20 per µm2. Due to the small presence of the precipitate during hot rolling and annealing of hot-rolled plates, productivity during quenching can be improved, tempering softening resistance during use as parts can be improved, cracking during hot stamping can be suppressed, and reduction of high-temperature strength can be suppressed. As a result, a martensitic stainless steel plate that can be used for a disk rotor can be obtained that has outstanding tempering softening resistance, quenching characteristics, workability, and high-temperature strength.
