[Problem] To provide a mascara applicator that makes it unnecessary for a user to switch a brush between the left and right hands in order to maintain a field of view when applying a cosmetic to the eyelashes of both eyes, that can be operated by the dominant hand, the brush of which is easy to hold horizontally, and which provides excellent makeup finish. [Solution] Provided is a mascara applicator in which an application rod that can be housed inside a mascara housing container is attached to a cap that tightly seals and covers the opening part of the mascara housing container, and an application body that extends in the substantially axial direction of the application rod is rotatably attached to the tip of the application rod. The mascara applicator is characterized in that one lateral side on the side opposing the rotation direction of the application body is perpendicular to a flat surface that includes the rotation path, and that in a state where the application body is rotated and the shaft center of the application body is caused to be bent with respect to the shaft center of the application rod, mascara can be applied using a ridge line section formed by the one lateral side and a lateral side adjacent to the one lateral side.
