Abstract:
Disclosed is a mask which can be use for sealing the cells in a honeycomb structure. In the region of the mask which abuts the end surface of the honeycomb structure when being used, the mask has a plurality of first through holes which pass through the mask in the thickness direction thereof. The area of the openings in the first through holes is at least 0.3mm², and is less than 90% of the area of the openings in the cells which are to be sealed by the first through holes.
