Abstract:
Provided is a mask with a particularly remarkable effect in the prevention of infectious diseases and hay fever. Specifically, this mask comprises a body section 2 that is air-permeable and covers at least part of the face of a wearer and a securing section 3 that secures the body section 2 to the face of the wearer. Furthermore, the body section 2 comprises a radiation generating layer that emits, to the surrounding area, radiation that produces hydroxyl radicals and the like through reaction with water molecules in air. The hydroxyl radicals produced by the radiation emitted from the radiation generating layer and hydrogen peroxide further produced from the hydroxyl radicals deactivate viruses, bacteria, and the like in the surrounding area.
