Abstract:

Provided is a masking tool for an electrostatic spraying apparatus that has a precise boundary between, in an object to be coated, a coated portion to which a liquid is applied and a non-coated portion to which the liquid is not applied and that is capable of suppressing the thickness of the liquid applied to the vicinity of the boundary of the coated portion from becoming thicker. The masking tool according to the present invention is a masking tool used in an electrostatic spraying apparatus that sprays the object to be coated with a misted liquid, the masking tool comprising a masking auxiliary body and a separate masking body, wherein the masking auxiliary body has the same electric potential as the object to be coated and is positioned so as to define the boundary between, in the object to be coated, the coated portion to which the liquid is applied and the non-coated portion to which the liquid is not applied, wherein the masking body is positioned so as to cover, closer to the non-coated portion side than the boundary, at least the non-coated portion of the object to be coated not covered by the masking auxiliary body, wherein the masking body, making use of an insulating material, is formed to reach an electrified state to repel the liquid, and wherein the masking auxiliary body is configured to such that the liquid can be applied.
