Abstract:
In order to achieve high efficiency, high throughput, and high sensitivity, this mass spectrometer wherein an ion mobility separation device and a mass spectrometer are connected to each other is provided with: a first flow channel 24 whereby ions generated from an ion source 1 pass through an ion mobility separation unit 2 and are introduced into a mass spectrometer 11; a second flow channel 21 whereby the ions generated by the ion source are introduced into the mass spectrometer without passing through the ion mobility separation unit; and for instance, blocking units 4 and 5 as switching means for performing switching between the first flow channel 24 and the second flow channel 21.
