Title:
MASS SPECTROMETRY DEVICE AND ION DETECTION DEVICE
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2018/078693
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
In this invention, a flat-plate-shaped focusing electrode (8) is disposed in such a manner as to have, inserted into an opening portion (8a) thereof, an inlet end (9a) from a heated capillary (9) for introducing ions into a subsequent stage vacuum chamber, while a flat-plate-shaped reflection electrode (7) is disposed at such a position as to face the focusing electrode (8)such that a spray stream ejected from the ionization probe (5) flows therebetween. In addition, a grounded auxiliary electrode (6) is disposed between the ionization probe (5), and the reflection electrode (7) and focusing electrode (8). The heated capillary (9) is grounded, while a voltage V1 and a voltage V2, where V1 > V2 > 0, are applied to the reflection electrode (7) and the focusing electrode (8) during a positive ion measurement. Components derived from the sample advance by being carried on the spray stream and are reflected and deflected by a reflective electric field formed in the space between the reflection electrode (7) and the focusing electrode (8). Near the inlet end (9a), a focusing electric field is formed, whereby ions are focused onto the inlet end (9a). Ions of components derived from the sample are separated from the gas stream to be efficiently gathered at the inlet end (9a), and aspirated into the heated capillary (9) to be sent to a mass spectrometry unit.
