Abstract:
This mass spectrometry device (1) is equipped with a mass spectrometry unit (2). The mass spectrometry unit (2) is installed in a horizontal orientation. As such, if the mass spectrometry unit (2) is adapted to have many components, the overall mass spectrometry device (1) would extend horizontally, minimizing increases in the overall vertical size of the mass spectrometry device (1). In addition, this mass spectrometry device (1) is equipped with a sample holding unit (7) for holding a sample (S). The sample holding unit (7) can be disposed at a first measuring position or a second measuring position by a rotation operation via a rotation mechanism. When the sample holding unit (7) is disposed in the first measuring position, the holding plate (72) of the sample holding unit (7) is vertically oriented, and the sample (S) extends vertically. A sample insertion tube (4) is formed into a linear shape so that the end portion thereof faces the sample (S), and the length thereof is shorter than if formed with an L-shape. Therefore, sample-derived ions can be efficiently introduced to the mass spectrometry unit (2), allowing for improved precision in analysis.
