Abstract:
According to the present invention, four rod electrodes (50a–50d) that are for separating ions by mass-to-charge ratio are held by two ceramic rod holders (51). The rod holders (51) are attached to metal holder-holding bases (52) that are arranged on a bottom surface of a vacuum housing (1). A coating film layer (10) is formed by black nickel plating on a vacuum housing (1) inside wall surface, an inlet lens (4), and an outlet lens (6) at portions thereof that face a quadrupole mass filter unit (5). Because the coating film layer (10) has a higher emissivity than Al or the like, radiant heat from the quadrupole mass filter unit (5) is efficiently absorbed by the coating film layer (10). As a result, heat generated at the rod holders (51) by dielectric loss can be efficiently dissipated, and deformation of the rod holders (51) can be reduced, which makes it possible to reduce changes/variation in the distance between the rod electrodes (50a–50d) and achieve high mass accuracy and mass resolution.
