Abstract:
A material for an air filter which comprises an electrostatic-treated airlaid nonwoven fabric, wherein an airlaid nonwoven fabric containing, as a main component, a synthetic fiber having a fiber length of 1 to 10 mm and comprising a thermoplastic polymer having no hydrophilic group in its molecular structure is adhered by melting with heat, is integrated, and is subjected to an electrostatic treatment. The above material for an air filter exhibits high efficiency for dust collecting, has a long life, is thin and uniform, and is free from environmental polution.
