Abstract:

Provided is a material for stainless steel cold rolling, which is suitable for a cold-rolled stainless steel sheet that has excellent formability and surface properties, while having sufficient corrosion resistance and ridging resistance characteristics. A material for stainless steel cold rolling according to the present invention contains, in mass%, 0.007-0.05% of C, 0.02-0.50% of Si, 0.05-1.0% of Mn, 0.04% or less of P, 0.01% or less of S, 15.5-18.0% of Cr, 0.001-0.10% of Al and 0.01-0.06% of N, with the balance made up of Fe and unavoidable impurities, and has a metal structure that is composed of a martensite phase in an area ratio of 10-60% and the balance made up of a ferrite phase. The martensite phase has a hardness of HV 500 or less.
